WHAT IS PLUGHUGGER?

Plughugger.com was started 2009 as a music technology review site by a Swede named Carl Lofgren, who have been writing professionally about music and computers since Atari ST were considered the hottest music technology. 2010 we put together our first soundset for the Waldorf Largo software synthesizer - and today Plughugger have grown to include sounds for some of the biggest software instruments on the market and we have helped make factory sounds for companies such as Spectrasonics, Arturia, GForce, Tone2, Polyend and for the incredible Solaris synthesizer by John Bowen. 2013 we put the reviewing part in the freezer and started to focus on just making sounds. Ten years later, we brought out the reviews again, but this time in form of videos on Youtube.

We are insanely passionate about sounds, and two of our favourite synths are Spectrasonics Omnisphere and u-he Diva. And u-he Repro. And the synths from Arturia. All of them.

I WANT CHEAP SOUNDS!
DO YOU HAVE SALES?

If you want sounds for the cheapest money possible, the newsletter is the place to be. For every new soundset we release we always have an intro offer for the first 10 days. For the first ten days, anything we release new is between 35% to 50% off the normal price. After the ten first days - the price is set back to its full value. If you missed the sale with a few hours, don't worry. Write us a mail and we'll arrange a special link for you.

Apart from the intro offer, we have two sales per year: summer and Black Friday.

Sometimes we have focused sales on a whole range of products from a specific developer.
Nobody knows when those sales will happen, or what they will focus on.

In other words. The newsletter is the place to be. We use the newsletter to let our subscribers know early on when a sale is coming, and if we have any special deals for something... the newsletter is where you will hear about it first.

OUR NEWSLETTER IS SPECIAL

We send out our newsletters once or twice per month, and it's always to inform about the latest releases from us. It's good to be on the mailing list as you won't miss our 10 day intro offers where you can snag the latest soundset for 35-50% cheaper. We also use the newsletter to talk about upcoming soundsets and what to expect from us in the future.

The newsletter is managed by Moosend and you can easily unsubscribe at any time.

HOW ARE THE SOUND DELIVERED?

After the purchase you will be forwarded to a webpage with your downloads and you will also be emailed a link where you can download your sounds. This link expires after five days, so it's a good idea to make a backup copy of the product. If the link doesn't work or you don't receive a link within 15 minutes - please let us know. The whole system for delivery is automatic and  works fine 99% of the time. But sometimes the one percent happens.

We are using an e-commerce solution by E-Junkie. When you bought a product you will be directed to a download location outside of plughugger.com. This is normal.

WHEN WILL MY SOUNDS BE DELIVERED?

After a successful purchase you are redirected to a download page containing your sounds. You will also be sent a link to this download page, and you can expect a link for downloading your product within minutes. But as with all automated systems - things can get delayed or even go wrong. Please leave up to 15-30 minutes before contacting us. If anything goes wrong - there is just one thing you need to keep in mind: don't worry about it. We will sort it out. We are not in the business to rip people off. Have you checked your spam folder? The link might just have sneaked in there. As of 2023 the spam filtering have become increasingly aggressive and it's a good idea to make sure you whitelist Plughugger from your filters. 90% of missing mails and links are due to spam filters.

I BOUGHT THE WRONG PRODUCT!

Please don't purchase anything if you don't know what you are doing. Please don't. The instructions on this site should be clear enough. If you are in doubt before you make a purchase - you are always welcome to contact us and chat about anything.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS?

You can freely use these sounds for commercial or private purposes in music, jingles, movies or television, without paying further fees than the original price of the product. The only restriction is that you must not use the sounds in an isolated manner - they must always be used in a musical context. You are for example not allowed to create a sample library based on the sounds you purchase from Plughugger.

WHAT AM I BUYING?

You are buying the right to use these sounds - not the sounds themselves. The sounds are under the copyright of Plughugger/Carl Löfgren. No one else has the ownership of the sounds. You are buying a license to use these sounds in any musical way you want. If you create a multi million dollar smash hit built on a Plughugger bass sound - congratulations! All you need to have is a licence for using the sounds. That's what you buy when you purchase sounds from Plughugger.

Please note that a license is only valid for the user/organisation who purchase the license from Plughugger. This means that even though you might give away or sell these sounds, you are still the holder of the license. Not the new user of the sounds.

MY COMPUTER CRASHED!
ALL THE SOUNDS ARE GONE!

Drop us a mail and we will recover all your lost soundsets. If you can, please locate your old download links and send them to us. That will make it ten times quicker for us to reactivate your downloads.

YOUR WEBSITE SUCKS!
WHY CAN'T I LOGIN AND DOWNLOAD MY SOUNDS?

We won't win any awards for the technology behind the website. The reason why we don't offer logins and fancy features like that is that we are terrible web developers. Last time we tried to do something advanced with this website - we spent six months, money for a consultant and it all was a huge disaster. One day it will happen - but until then we'll putting out energies on what we do well. Making sounds.
