One of the synthesizers that really captures the essence of the 80s is the Casio CZ series, and one of the few software synthesizers that successfully captures the essence of that sound is the reFX PlastiCZ. It's been around for quite some time now, but it's a synthesizer with an unique sound and an architecture that makes sound design very intuitive. The sound can best be described as thin, innocent and naive.

IT'S BAKELITE! is a soundset of 128 mixed patches that expands greatly from the original presets. While the included sounds tried to emulate classical sounds such as Moog and the TB-303 - this soundset is an exploration of the true rubbery insides of PlastiCZ. IT'S BAKELITE! is mainly concentrated around bass sounds and leads. You will not find any soft swirling pads in here. Although there are a few, they are more in the direction of disturbing atmospheres.
Due to its definite character, this soundset is also useful for remixing.
