Nexus Reloaded is a collection of over 400 new presets for the Nexus 2 software synthesizer that doesn't require any new samples, but instead rely on the samples that are built-in within Nexus 2.

Although we personally gladly buy new expansions at the Nexus shop, it's easy to forget that Nexus in its clean configuration contains all waveforms you need to build exciting new sounds.

And that was the purpose of Nexus Reloaded - to see how far you can push Nexus 2 with only the parameters available for us mortals. No additional samples - no direct access to the hidden parameters. The answer is you can take Nexus very far and if you are a believer that Nexus is only a preset player, think again. Scroll down and take a look at the video clip where we take a basic saw sound and turn it into something entirely different.

When done, we were left with 484 new arpeggios, basses, pads and leads. After a trimming down to just keep the really useful sounds we ended up with 423 presets which we then divided into the following categories:

Arp Bass: 136
Arp Lead: 62
Bass: 95
Gates: 21
Lead: 55
Pads: 54

The style of the presets span from screeching monsterleads to wobbly basses, cute pads and basslines compressed so hard they could crush bones. Nexus Reloaded is a collection of presets with sounds for trance, 80s pop, modern pop, techno, electro and a bunch of other styles we absolutely cannot classify - but were to cool to be wasted.

The sounds were designed to be firestarters - sources of inspiration. This is particularly true with the bass arpeggios which work best as starting points for songs or creation of breaks.

AUDIO EXAMPLES
There are no treatment on the sounds except a limiter with a very modest setting on the master bus. No external effects or eq:ing have been applied to any of the sounds.
