Ultra Pigments is a modern sounding soundset based on the legendary Virus TI synthesizer made by German synthmaker Access.

The core of the sounds is based on sampled recordings from the Access Virus TI hardware synthesizer. For Ultra Pigments we sampled a huge selection of its oscillators: from raw waveforms and intervals, to FM, clean wavetables, drums and experimental wavetable sweeps. From these sounds we recreated the sound and feel of the Virus TI in Pigments.

With Ultra Pigments we took the sounds from the Virus and used the vast synthesis capabilities of Pigments to take the sound to places you couldn’t normally go with the original hardware, such as layering and granular synthesis.

Apart from the normal sounds, we also added a handful of percussive drum sounds from the Virus, as well as a handful of vocal recordings made by a speech synthesizer to add some inspiration.

Prototype Frequencies is a soundset for Arturia Pigments based on the hardware groovebox Model Cycles by Elektron. The soundset explores the dedicated FM engines by using the advanced sample functionality of Arturia Pigments, utilising better effects, higher polyphony and more advanced modulation.

The sound design goal of Prototype Frequencies was to capture the multifaceted character of the Model Cycles. From cute ambient sine bells all the way to absolute techno mayhem. The Model Cycles is one of the most underrated grooveboxes on the planet with a sound that leaves other modern hardware FM synths in the dust.

Thanks to its advanced sample editing features, Arturia Pigments is the perfect platform for bringing out a new dimension to the Model Cycles.
